Trinidad and Tobago: The track and field athlete from Trinidad and Tobago, Akeem Stewart won a silver medal in the Men’s Discus F64 Final at the 2024 Paralympic Games in Paris.

His performance left him with his season’s best throw of 59.66m marking a significant achievement in his athletic journey. The gold medal at the event was grabbed by Jeremy Campbell of the USA, who threw the disc 61.14 meters away marking a personal best score for him.

Blair David grabbed the position for the bronze medal with his score of 57.76m. This is to be noted that the silver medal won by Stewart was a result of his first throw at the international platform of the Paralympics in Stade de France.

Akeem Stewart has also won other medals including a gold and silver for Trinidad and Tobago in the Rio 2016 Paralympics and this another win has made the residents across the island nation proud again.

He won a gold in javelin throw and a silver in Discus throw. During the event in 2016, he also set a record of 61.72m throw which led to his win at the event in Rio.

The Ministry of Sports and Community Development upon this well-deserved win stated, “We salute Akeem for his dedication, strength, and unwavering determination. Let’s continue to rally behind him as he inspires us all.”

Akeem Stewart is being highly applauded by Trinidadians and Tobagonians for his achievement. The citizens are constantly sending their wishes of appreciation to the athlete while being proud of his win.
