BermudAir to launch first nonstop Newark-South Caicos flights

South Caicos: BermudAir will launch the first nonstop air service between New York and South Caicos on 20 December 2026. The flights will operate twice-weekly from Newark Liberty International Airport to South Caicos International Airport. This seasonal service is scheduled to operate till April 25, 2027 after starting from 20 December 2026. The flights will operate on Thursdays and Sundays. The fares of this service will start at $347 one way, and it will take about 3.5 hours to complete the journey.

With this new route, the travellers from the New York area can directly access South Caicos without a connection. It will also help in increasing the island’s scheduled international flights during the winter season. The number of flights weekly would also increase from two to four flights per week.

Embraer E190 aircraft will be used to operate the new service, said BermudAir. The main aim of this service is to connect travellers with South Caicos, which is a small island in the Turks and Caicos Islands.

The new service was developed after Salterra, a Luxury Collection Resort & Spa on South Caicos, approached BermudAir with a proposal of connecting the small island with the New York market directly. The resort that opened in 2025 has been working to improve air access to the island continuously.

Adam Scott, who is the founder and chief executive of BermudAir said that the new route will help in increasing the accessibility to the island. It will also support tourism and economic activity in South Caicos. The founder and chief executive of Salterra, Michael Tibbets said that better air access would create new opportunities for local businesses and the wider community.

The Thursday and Sunday schedule will suit short and longer trips. According to the information provided by the airline, the fares of one-way flights start at $347 while the round-trip fares start at $773.

The BermudAir has been widely expanding its services to Turks and Caicos Islands and this South Caicos service is a part of the expansion. The airline has also announced new service to Providenciales from Newark, Fort Lauderdale, Baltimore-Washington, Raleigh-Durham, Boston, St. Petersburg/Tampa and Toronto. Most of the routes are going to begin in December, while the Fort Lauderdale service is scheduled to start on October 26.

The airline said that it will now also be offering vacation packages that combine flights, hotels and local experiences. These packages will be provided by the BermudAir Holidays division. The new South Caicos flights are yet to get regulatory approval.
