St Kitts and Nevis: St Kitts’ Journey of The Seas continued as the illustrious “Wonder of the Seas”, touted as the largest cruise ship in the world, made an exciting inaugural cruise call to Port Zante of the destination.
A celebratory plaque exchange ceremony was hosted onboard the oasis-class ship as Prime Minister of St. Kitts and Nevis, Dr Terrance Drew, extended utmost gratitude to captain Henrick Loy of Royal Caribbean International for adding St. Kitts to the vessel’s itinerary.
Oasis class, “Wonder of the Seas”, the boldest and largest cruise ship in the world, voyaged to St. Kitts for the first time. The Wonder of The Seas accommodates 6,988 passengers and 2,300 crew members, all of whom were allowed to experience the destination’s incredible tourism offerings.
The docking of the world’s largest cruise line has created a carnival-like atmosphere in Basseterre. Port Zante was again buzzing with much activity and excitement as thousands of cruise passengers visited St. Kitts today, Thursday, November 24, 2022.
Along with the Wonder of the seas, two more cruises, such as Aurora, and Celebrity Equinox, also made an inaugural call on Port Zante.
The passengers came onboard three ships that were docked in the waters, namely: Aurora, Celebrity Equinox and Wonder of the Seas – the world’s largest cruise ship.
While expressing pleasure, Minister of Foreign Affairs- Denzil Douglas stated, “It’s a day of celebration on the island of St. Kitts as we have our first three cruise ship days on Port Zante since the return of cruise activity such as Aurora, Celebrity Equinox and Wonder of the Seas.”

While welcoming the captain, crew and guests, Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew cited, “You have confidence in the destination by adding St Kitts and Nevis to your now largest vessel, the Wonder of the Seas with a passenger capacity of 6988.”
Around 34,940 passengers are scheduled to travel through the Wonder of the Seas during the current cruise season.
