World Creole Music Festival all set to return to Dominica in October this year

The commonwealth of Dominica is all set to attract tourists from across the globe as the World Creole Music Festival will knock on everyone's door this year. 

Roseau, Dominica: The commonwealth of Dominica is all set to attract tourists from across the globe as the World Creole Music Festival will knock on everyone’s door this year. 

The much-awaited and most-loved World Creole Music Festival is officially returning to Dominica for the commencement of the 22nd edition. The music festival will be held from October 28 to October 30 2022. 

The Festival will be of three nights of pulsating rhythms. 

The World Creole Music Festival (WCMF) is well-known in Dominica and hosted by the authorities of the country. It is an event of three days and is held during the final weekend in October. The Festival is celebrated as a conclusion to Creole heritage month. 

The Festival was launched by the authorities to create a platform that assisted in the promotion of the tourism industry of the country. It has also become a source to promote and create indigenous Dominican music. 

In order to celebrate the Creole heritage month, various entertainers from across the globe, such as Caribbean countries, French Antilles, Africa and North America, joined the Festival. 

The Festival begins on the last Friday in October each year. Entertainers from the Caribbean, French Antilles, Africa and North America attend.

From May 1, 2022, the Nature island has witnessed Jazz and Creole’s great enthusiasm and festivities, where numerous events were held. 

The Commonwealth of Dominica welcomes the reintroduction of the much anticipated famous Jazz and Creole festival this year. On May 1, 2022, the citizens of the Caribbean country will witness the first hosting of the Festival since the one set of the pandemic. 

Jazz and Creole welcomed to the main stage Teddyson John of St Lucia Femme Four out of Dominica comprising Starsha, Marsha, Shalina, and Tasha P, JSL out of Guadeloupe, Breve, a local Brand, a Local Band, Dominica’s Princess of Song Michele Henderson and Freetown Collective of Trinidad and Tobago. 

A number of fringe events were also incorporated into the Jazz and Creole calendar this year. Destination Marketing Manager, Ms Kimberly King, spoke about some of the fringe activities on offer. 

However, many details of the World Creole Music Festival have not yet been revealed by the authorities.
