Wishes pour on PM Philip J Pierre to complete 25 years as politician in St Lucia
Castries, St Lucia: Prime Minister Philip J Pierre celebrated 25 years of elected services and as a politician of St Lucia. On his special occasion, various wishes from different people have been poured on him.
Firstly, Deputy Prime Minister Ernest Hilaire hailed PM Pierre on his special day and stated that today marks 25 years of elected service of two giants of our modern political history – Kenny D. Anthony and Philip J. Pierre.
Ernest Hilaire noted, “Actually Philip is the longest-serving Parliamentarian, having been in the Senate before 1997. Both have been teachers to me of the art, and sometimes science, of politics, in different ways. For this, I am eternally grateful. But more significantly, this achievement speaks of the immeasurable commitment they have had to their constituents and people of Saint Lucia.”
He stated that People matter; both will advise you; put them first. They have lived true to the words of the Anthem of our great Party:
Further, Parliamentary Representative for Gros Islet Kenson Casimir also poured wishes on PM Philip J Pierre on his special day.
Kenson Casimir noted, “If a constituency has elected you for five consecutive terms, that says something if the members of the Party have elected you to be their leader, that says something.”
He further said that despite the noise, you have shown me, a young man, who got into politics around the age that you did, that true leadership is how you treat people. True leadership is not micromanaging. True leadership is about inclusivity. He is so proud to serve in my first Cabinet with you at the helm.
Congratulations on 25 years of stellar service to the people of Castries East, Philip J Pierre. Saint Lucia is truly in good hands!
