“We did not borrow $1 during COVID-19 period,” says PM Harris

St Kitts and Nevis: Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis Timothy Harris spoke in a press conference on how his government did outstanding management of the economy by Team Unity during COVID19.

In the Press conference, the Prime Minister said,” Our able management of our Country since 2015 has allowed us to build up unprecedented fiscal surpluses that have helped us so far to weather the rough storms of the COVID-19 pandemic.”

He added,” Nine months after the pandemic, we followed through on our commitment to deliver a stimulus package of $120 million – the largest and best in the region, and your Government kept all 9,477 employees across the established division, auxiliary government employees, and STEP workers on the job. Further, 1,332 government pensioners received their due entitlements. “

 He also pointed out, “We did not borrow $1.00 during that period.”

He also noted,” Public confidence in my government remains high; several private sector projects will start in the first quarter of 2021, resulting in more jobs, better incomes, and more economic activity in our federation .”

Talking to Associates Times, Dr. Azhar Kharsa said, “As citizens of SKN, we’re really confident in your government and especially in you, our beloved Prime Minister.”

“The prime minister is a man of the people because he has humans feelings of is citizens over here in Nigeria I have been meeting with different multinational companies on how to set a base in Saint Kitts to improve the well-being of the citizen and the economy and my restaurant company too I know this year will bring favor and blessings to Island all the citizens there God bless we all, Stay bless at all time,” Mark said.
