The International Cricket Council (ICC) announced that they would be permitting only 70 per cent of the maximum seating capacity during all matches of ICC Men’s T20 World Cup 2021. This time the World Cup would be in the United Arab and rules will remain the same at all venues.

While giving further information, the officials of ICC said that Abu Dhabi had introduced a new technology of newly designed ‘pods’. This would be allowing the 4 spectators from east and west grass mounds. The Oman Cricket Academy, for welcoming over 3,000 spectators, have built temporary infrastructure.

The council made this announcement while they were saying that they had opened their sales of tickets for cricket lovers from all over the world.
The world cup is scheduled to start on October 17 and will last until November 14, this time, West Indies will be fighting to defend their title.

ICC Acting CEO Geoff Allardice said, “We are delighted to be welcoming fans back to international cricket in both Oman and the UAE to enjoy the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup. Our thanks to our hosts BCCI, Emirates Cricket Board (ECB) and Oman Cricket as well as the local governments in these regions for their support in ensuring fans could attend in a safe environment.”

The West Indies, the only side to win the tournament twice, will also feature on the opening day of the Super 12s as they kick off their defence of the title in Dubai against England.

On October 24, Former champions India and Pakistan would be facing off in Dubai.

The BCCI’s Secretary Jay Shah said that he was happy as now the fans could cheer their favourite teams while watching real matches.
He thanked the UAE and Oman for paving the way for fans to return.

Jay Shah said, “The anticipation for the World Cup, which is taking place after five years, is building with each passing day. I am sure we will have fans coming from different parts of the world to support their team. The vibe they will create will boost the performances on the field. The ticket sales have started, and I urge everyone to stay safe and follow the health advisories and savour the experience.”
