T&T reports 321 new COVID-19 cases

Trinidad and Tobago island have reported 321 new cases of the COVID-19 mutant on 13 August 2021, as per the report of the Health Ministry.

As per the report, there are 6,145 total active cases in the nation. In comparison, a total of 34,216 individuals have been recovered from the contagious COVID-19 virus. 

In total, around 298 people are still in the hospital. The Health Ministry further informed in the report that a total of 1,167 patients have died on the Caribbean island as of 13 August 2021. According to the report, there are a total of 97 patients in the step-down facilities, around 134 individuals are in the state-quarantine facilities. 

A total of 5,429 individuals have isolated themselves at their respective homes amid the COVID-19 pandemic, as per the data shared in the health ministry’s report of T&T. 

So far, as of 13 August 2021, in Trinidad and Tobago, a total of 444,308 individuals have received their first shot of the COVID-19 vaccine, whereas, in total, 284,572 individuals have welcomed their second jab of the COVID-19 vaccine and now are fully vaccinated against the deadly COVID-19. 

If we look at the statistics of COVID-19 testing, a total of 286,821 individuals have been tested for the novel coronavirus, out of which 122,247 COVID-19 tests were conducted at private healthcare facilities. In contrast, 164,574 people were tested at the public healthcare facilities for the novel coronavirus. 

In their report, the Health Ministry further informed that the samples of these new 321 COVID-19 positive cases were taken between 9 August to 12 August 2021. 

As per the report, since the COVID-19 pandemic started, the Caribbean island has reported a total of 41,528 cases of the deadly virus.
