T&T records 258 new COVID infections

Trinidad and Tobago: The Caribbean island – Trinidad and Tobago have reported 258 new cases of the COVID-19 mutant on 22 July 2021. The Health Ministry of Trinidad and Tobago has shared this COVID-19 update report on 22 July 2021 via social media handle. 

As per the report, there are 5,823 total active cases in the nation rise to In comparison, a total of 30,043 individuals have been recovered from the contagious COVID-19 virus.

In contrast, around 318 people are still in the hospital. The Health Ministry further informed in the report that a total of 1018 patients have died on the Caribbean island as of 22 July 2021. 

According to a total of 75 patients in the step-down facilities, around 101 individuals are in the state-quarantine facilities. A total of 5,172 individuals have isolated themselves at their respective homes amid the COVID-19 pandemic, as per the data shared in the health ministry’s report of T&T. 

So far, as of 22 July 2021, in Trinidad and Tobago, a total of 296,006 individuals have received their first jab of the COVID-19 vaccine, whereas, in total, 177,149 individuals have received their second jab of the COVID-19 vaccine and now are fully vaccinated against the deadly COVID-19. 

If we look at the statistics of COVID-19 testing, a total of 257,351 individuals have been tested for the novel coronavirus, out of which 109,383 COVID-19 tests were conducted at private healthcare facilities. In contrast, 147,968 people were tested at the public healthcare facilities for the novel coronavirus. 

The Health Ministry further informed in their report that the samples of these new 258 COVID-19 positive cases were taken between 18 July to 21 July 2021. 

As per the report, since the COVID-19 pandemic started, the Caribbean island has reported a total of 36,884 cases of the deadly virus.
