T&T records 185 new COVID cases

Trinidad and Tobago island have reported 185 new cases of the COVID-19 mutant on 29 August 2021, as per the report of the Health Ministry. There are 4,592 total active cases in the nation. In comparison, a total of 38,611 individuals have been recovered from the contagious COVID-19 virus.

In total, around 283 people are still in the hospital. The Health Ministry further informed in the report that a total of 1,278 patients have died on the Caribbean island as of 29 August 2021. 

According to the report, there are a total of 89 patients in the step-down facilities, around 139 individuals are in the state-quarantine facilities. A total of 4,035 individuals have isolated themselves at their respective homes amid the COVID-19 pandemic, as per the data shared in the health ministry’s report of T&T. 

So far, as of 29 August 2021, in Trinidad and Tobago, a total of 505,067 individuals have received their first shot of the COVID-19 vaccine, whereas, in total, 393,916 individuals have welcomed their second jab of the COVID-19 vaccine and now are fully vaccinated against the deadly COVID-19.  

As per the report, since the COVID-19 pandemic started, the Caribbean island has reported a total of 44,481 cases of the deadly virus.

If we look at the statistics of COVID-19 testing, a total of 307,291 individuals have been tested for the novel coronavirus, out of which around 131,489 individuals have been tested at private facilities, whereas the remaining tests were conducted at public healthcare facilities.
