T&T records 183 new COVID infections

As per the report, there are 5,781 total active cases in the nation. In comparison, a total of 32,454 individuals have been recovered from the contagious COVID-19 virus. 

In contrast, around 339 people are still in the hospital. The Health Ministry further informed in the report that a total of 1,110 patients have died on the Caribbean island as of 4 August 2021. 

According to a total of 90 patients in the step-down facilities, around 174 individuals are in the state-quarantine facilities. A total of 5,169 individuals have isolated themselves at their respective homes amid the COVID-19 pandemic, as per the data shared in the health ministry’s report of T&T. 

So far, as of 4 August 2021, in Trinidad and Tobago, a total of 403,251 individuals have received their first jab of the COVID-19 vaccine, whereas, in total, 198,702 individuals have received their second jab of the COVID-19 vaccine and now are fully vaccinated against the deadly COVID-19. 

If we look at the statistics of COVID-19 testing, a total of 275,282 individuals have been tested for the novel coronavirus, out of which 118,109 COVID-19 tests were conducted at private healthcare facilities. In contrast, 157,173 people were tested at the public healthcare facilities for the novel coronavirus. 

In their report, the Health Ministry further informed that the samples of these new 183 COVID-19 positive cases were taken between 31 July and 3 August 2021. 

As per the report, since the COVID-19 pandemic started, the Caribbean island has reported a total of 39,162 cases of the deadly virus.
