T&T records 115 new cases of COVID-19 

The Caribbean island - Trinidad and Tobago have reported new 115 cases of the COVID-19 mutant on 7 July 2021. 

Trinidad and Tobago: The Caribbean island – Trinidad and Tobago have reported new 115 cases of the COVID-19 mutant on 7 July 2021. 

The Health Ministry of Trinidad and Tobago has shared a COVID-19 update report on 7 July 2021 via social media handle. 

According to the report, the total number of active cases in the country rise to 6,244. In comparison, a total of 26,758 individuals have been recovered from the contagious COVID-19 virus, whereas around 334 people are still in the hospital. 

The Health Ministry further informed in the report that a total of 918 patients have died on the Caribbean island as of 7 July 2021. 

According to a total of 119 patients in the step-down facilities, around 272 individuals are in the state-quarantine facilities. A total of 5,676 individuals have isolated themselves at their respective homes amid the COVID-19 pandemic, as per the data shared in the health ministry’s report. 

So far, as of 7 July 2021, in Trinidad and Tobago, a total of 221,620 individuals have received their first dose of the COVID-19 vaccine, whereas, in total, 129,849 individuals have received their second jab of the COVID-19 vaccine and now are fully vaccinated against the deadly COVID-19. 

If we look at the statistics of COVID-19 testing, a total of 238,972 individuals have been tested for the novel coronavirus, out of which 101,755 COVID-19 tests were conducted at private healthcare facilities. In contrast, 137,217 people were tested at the public healthcare facilities for the novel coronavirus. 

The Health Ministry further informed in their report that the samples of these new 115 COVID-19 positive cases were taken between 3 July to 6 July 2021.
