Trinidad and Tobago: The Caribbean island – Trinidad and Tobago have reported 103 new cases of the COVID-19 mutant on 18 July 2021. The Health Ministry of Trinidad and Tobago has shared this COVID-19 update report on 18 July 2021 via social media handle. 

As per the report, there are 5,780 total active cases in the country rise to In comparison, a total of 29,245 individuals have been recovered from the contagious COVID-19 virus. 

In contrast, around 312 people are still in the hospital. The Health Ministry further informed in the report that a total of 992 patients have died on the Caribbean island as of 18 July 2021. 

According to a total of 90 patients in the step-down facilities, around 129 individuals are in the state-quarantine facilities. A total of 5,275 individuals have isolated themselves at their respective homes amid the COVID-19 pandemic, as per the data shared in the health ministry’s report of T&T. 

So far, as of 18 July 2021, in Trinidad and Tobago, a total of 250,291 individuals have received their first jab of the COVID-19 vaccine, whereas, in total, 164,978 individuals have received their second jab of the COVID-19 vaccine and now are fully vaccinated against the deadly COVID-19. 

If we look at the statistics of COVID-19 testing, a total of 250,060 individuals have been tested for the novel coronavirus, out of which 105,525 COVID-19 tests were conducted at private healthcare facilities. In contrast, 144,535 people were tested at the public healthcare facilities for the novel coronavirus. 

The Health Ministry further informed in their report that the samples of these new 103 COVID-19 positive cases were taken between 14 July to 17 July 2021.
