T&T COVID Update: 213 new infections reported, 242,543 citizens are fully vaccinated

Trinidad and Tobago island have reported 213 new cases of the COVID-19 mutant on 10 August 2021, as per the report of the Health Ministry.

As per the report, there are 5,891 total active cases in the nation. In comparison, a total of 33,539 individuals have been recovered from the contagious COVID-19 virus. 

In total, around 311 people are still in the hospital. The Health Ministry further informed in the report that a total of 1,144 patients have died on the Caribbean island as of 10 August 2021.

According to a total of 83 patients in the step-down facilities, around 145 individuals are in the state-quarantine facilities. A total of 5,284 individuals have isolated themselves at their respective homes amid the COVID-19 pandemic, as per the data shared in the health ministry’s report of T&T. 

So far, as of 10 August 2021, in Trinidad and Tobago, a total of 425,422 individuals have received their first shot of the COVID-19 vaccine, whereas, in total, 242,543 individuals have received their second jab of the COVID-19 vaccine and now are fully vaccinated against the deadly COVID-19. 

If we look at the statistics of COVID-19 testing, a total of 283,910 individuals have been tested for the novel coronavirus, out of which 122,247 COVID-19 tests were conducted at private healthcare facilities. In contrast, 161,663 people were tested at the public healthcare facilities for the novel coronavirus. 

In their report, the Health Ministry further informed that the samples of these new 213 COVID-19 positive cases were taken between 6 August to 9 August 2021. 

As per the report, since the COVID-19 pandemic started, the Caribbean island has reported a total of 40,574 cases of the deadly virus.
