T&T: Angus Eve appointed as interim head coach of Men’s National Football Team

The Normalisation Committee - NC of the Trinidad and Tobago Football Association - TTFA has appointed Angus Eve as the new Interim Head Coach of the Senior Men's National Football Team ahead of the Gold Cup Preliminary Round.

Trinidad and Tobago: The Normalisation Committee – NC of the Trinidad and Tobago Football Association – TTFA has appointed Angus Eve as the new Interim Head Coach of the Senior Men’s National Football Team ahead of the Gold Cup Preliminary Round.

The Gold Cup Preliminary Round would take place in early July 2021. Eve would remain as coach till 31st August 2021.

While speaking to TTFA Media, Eve stated, “I’m really honoured and privileged to have this opportunity to continue to represent my nation. I’m committed to giving a lift to Trinidad and Tobago, particularly in this time where we are battling with so many different difficulties at the same time.”

The appointment of an Interim Head Coach had to be made in very quick order, As the Gold Cup is around the corner.

A selection panel of NC Member – Nicholas Gomez, Anton Corneal, Anthony Sherwood, and Richard Chinapoo met on the 12th of June to finalize the Interim Head Coach, and Eve’s selection was recommended to the NC as the preferred candidate.

The Chairman of NC – Robert Hadad, stated, “We thank the previous coaching staff for their commitment and efforts. We now look forward to the Gold Cup competition and wish Angus all the best. We will do our very best to support him and the team.”

To finalize Eve’s coaching staff, the NC would be consulting him and after the Gold Cup, a method supervised by an independent selection panel would further invite and review applications in anticipation of appointing the new Senior Men’s National Team head coach in the month of September 2021.

Eve, who has also been a former national football player. With this, during his career, he has also coached many teams. In addition, Eve is the coach at Naparima College and at Club Sando and is a former T&T junior coach.
