T&T: 6,305 active COVID cases, 27, 013 patients recovered

Trinidad and Tobago: The Caribbean island – Trinidad and Tobago have reported new 321 cases of the COVID-19 mutant on 8 July 2021. The Health Ministry of Trinidad and Tobago has shared this COVID-19 update report on 8 July 2021 via social media handle. 

As per to the report, there are 6,305 total number of active cases in the country rise to In comparison, a total of 27, 013 individuals have been recovered from the contagious COVID-19 virus.

In contrast, around 332 people are still in the hospital. The Health Ministry further informed in the report that a total of 923 patients have died on the Caribbean island as of 8 July 2021. 

According to a total of 116 patients in the step-down facilities, around 248 individuals are in the state-quarantine facilities. A total of 5,536 individuals have isolated themselves at their respective homes amid the COVID-19 pandemic, as per the data shared in the health ministry’s report of T&T. 

So far, as of 8 July 2021, in Trinidad and Tobago, a total of 225,307 individuals have received their first jab of the COVID-19 vaccine, whereas, in total, 137,276 individuals have received their second jab of the COVID-19 vaccine and now are fully vaccinated against the deadly COVID-19. 

If we look at the statistics of COVID-19 testing, a total of 239,944 individuals have been tested for the novel coronavirus, out of which 101,755 COVID-19 tests were conducted at private healthcare facilities. In contrast, 138,189 people were tested at the public healthcare facilities for the novel coronavirus. 

The Health Ministry further informed in their report that the samples of these new 321 COVID-19 positive cases were taken between 4 July to 7 July 2021.
