Trinidad and Tobago: The axis of a tropical wave passed Trinidad and Tobago early this morning. Most of the weather associated with this wave have been occurring to the north and east of Trinidad and Tobago.
Mostly fair to sunny conditions early this morning, although isolated thunderstorms developed in the near offshore areas. By late morning an increase in cloudiness have been observed, accompanied by moderate showers to heavy showers in some areas.
Low level convergence and instability following the axis, in conjunction with some daytime heating and initially light winds with a moist atmosphere, is forecast to produce some partly cloudy periods with light to moderate showers and a medium chance (40% – 60%) for isolated heavy showers or thunderstorms during the afternoon.
Winds are generally from the southeast and will become east-southeast by evening. In the event of a heavy shower or thunderstorm, winds can become gusty and street or flash flooding is likely in the vicinity. With the occurrence of prolonged precipitation, the risk of land slips or landslides.
Sunny conditions will be interrupted by partly cloudy spells and accompanied at times by light to moderate showers. There is also a 40-60% (medium) chance of a few heavy showers or thunderstorms during the afternoon.
Tonight will be fair however a few early morning showers are likely. Gusty winds and street/flash flooding may occur near heavy showers and thunderstorms.
Hot and sunny conditions are expected apart from a brief shower. Tonight will be fair at first with showers likely after midnight.

Temperatures recorded at Piarco had already risen to 31°C by 10:00 a.m. and 30°C at Crown Point. The maximum temperatures forecast for Piarco is 33°C and 32°C for Crown Point, which could peak higher in the cities and built up areas by mid-afternoon.
