Tropical Storm Bret brings breezy showers to Curacao, northern Lesser Antilles

Bret is now a trough after bringing some breezy showers to Curacao this morning. The mid-upper trough that killed off Bret also enhanced showers across the northern Lesser Antilles today.

Bret is now a trough after bringing some breezy showers to Curacao this morning. The mid-upper trough that killed off Bret also enhanced showers across the northern Lesser Antilles today.

A few more showers to pass tonight. Cindy is passing far northeast and only a trailing trough with feeder rainbands should bring some light to moderate showers Sunday to Monday in the islands.

A robust tropical wave with axis near 43W is moving quickly west. Trailing it is another weaker tropical wave near 34W. Both have a Saharan dust layer with surge in trade winds to the north.

They will bring periods of moderate to heavy showers in Guianas from Sun night to Wed, and to the Lesser Antilles Tuesday to Thursday. Winds will pick up late Monday with some gusts Tues to Thurs.

Earlier, Tropical Storm Warning was discontinued for Dominica, Barbados and Saint Lucia.

Most areas are expected to remain clear to cloudy with light showers for some. Showers are expected from time to time, mainly during the morning period. Showers will so far be focused mainly on the lower Southern and Western areas.

Showers will be brief and isolated. Sunshine is to persist for all. Increasing cloudiness is expected mainly during the evening. Heat will be extreme.

A,B, and C islands – Bret is making his way to the Caribbean sea and is affecting all 3 islands with heavy showers, thunderstorms, and hazardous seas. Aruba will experience the worst of the rainfall this morning for several hours.

Lesser Antilles- some of the islands will experience sun and clouds while some experience showers from time to time. While Tropical Storm Cindy remains mainly at sea, the upper islands of the Lesser Antilles can expect showers as clouds will be crossing over to meet the storm. So far, Cindy is forecast to remain at sea and entirely skip the Lesser Antilles.
