Trinidad and Tobago records 176 new COVID-19 cases

In total, around 266 people are still in the hospital

Trinidad and Tobago: Trinidad and Tobago island have reported 176 new cases of the COVID-19 mutant on 14th October 2021, as per the report of the Health Ministry. 

As per the report, there are 4,178 total active cases in the nation. In comparison, a total of 47,641 individuals have been recovered from the contagious COVID-19 virus. 

In total, around 266 people are still in the hospital. The Health Ministry further informed in the report that a total of 1,573 patients have died on island as of 14th October 2021.

According to the report, there are a total of 44 patients in the step-down facilities, around 53 individuals are in the state-quarantine facilities. A total of 3,692 individuals have isolated themselves at their respective homes amid the COVID-19 pandemic, as per the data shared in the health ministry’s report of T&T. 

605,385 people have been partially vaccinated with one dose of vaccine. The vaccinated persons, on island have got 120,100 AstraZeneca Oxford vaccine, 394,044 got Sino pharm vaccine and 91,240 doses of Pfizer, 28,531 Johnson & Johnson. 

559,820 people have been fully vaccinated on the island.

Public facilities discharged total 26 people on island, and 178 are recovered community cases. Recovered community cases are categorized in them those who have been infected by COVID-19 virus, and they were in self-isolation, and after reaching the discharge, criteria had been released from self-isolation.

1 additional death have also been reported on Wednesday. From the 1 dead,0 were elderly male, 1 elderly females and 0 middle-aged male, 0 middle-aged female, 0 young adult female,0 young adult male.

The Ministry focuses to give priority to its health care workers those are facing continuous  high-risk high-exposure society from the widely spread COVID-19 virus. To this end, health care workers are once again been prioritized to take another World Health Organization (WHO) recommended COVID-19 vaccine to protect their patients, their families and themselves.

Trinidad and Tobago would be receiving the shipment of 82,000 doses of the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine. This shipment is coming from Canada. Canadian Minister of International Development Karina Gould gave this updation on the vaccine doses.
