Trinidad and Tobago: Trinidad and Tobago island have reported 127 new cases of the COVID-19 mutant on 26 September 2021, as per the report of the Health Ministry. 

As per the report, there are 4,316 total active cases in the nation. In comparison, a total of 44,1761 individuals have been recovered from the contagious COVID-19 virus. 

In total, around 292 people are still in the hospital. The Health Ministry further informed in the report that a total of 1,457 patients have died on island as of 26 September 2021.

According to the report, there are a total of 70 patients in the step-down facilities, around 156 individuals are in the state-quarantine facilities. A total of 3,827 individuals have isolated themselves at their respective homes amid the COVID-19 pandemic, as per the data shared in the health ministry’s report of T&T. 

5,66,711 people have been partially vaccinated with one dose of vaccine. The vaccinated persons, on island have got 120,050 AstraZeneca Oxford vaccine, 378,499 got Sino pharm vaccine and 68,162 doses of Pfizer, 15,715 Johnson & Johnson. 

463,072 people have been fully vaccinated on the island.

Public facilities discharged total 32 people on island, and 78 are recovered community cases. Recovered community cases are categorized in them those who have been infected by COVID-19 virus, and they were in self-isolation, and after reaching the discharge, criteria had been released from self-isolation.

6 additional death have also been reported on Sunday. From the 6 dead,3 were elderly male, 2 elderly females and 0 middle-aged male, 1 middle-aged female, 0 young adult male, 0 young adult.

The Ministry focuses to give priority to its health care workers those are facing continuous  high-risk high-exposure society from the widely spread COVID-19 virus. To this end, health care workers are once again been prioritized to take another World Health Organization (WHO) recommended COVID-19 vaccine to protect their patients, their families and themselves.

Trinidad and Tobago would be receiving the shipment of 82,000 doses of the AstraZeneca COVID-19 vaccine. This shipment is coming from Canada. Canadian Minister of International Development Karina Gould gave this updation on the vaccine doses.Â
