Castries, Saint Lucia: The Daren Ganga Cricket Academy from Trinidad and Tobago is presently on a cricket tour of Saint Lucia.

The group of under-17 players played their opening tour match on Sunday, August 27 vs the Northern Cluster Grassroots team at the Gros Islet Playing Field.

The Northern Cluster Grassroots 17 years and under representative team asked to bat first by the Daren Ganga Cricket Academy in a 40-over-a-side match, made an impressive 362 all out in 39.3 overs.

The Northern Cluster Grassroots team was led by excellent half centuries from Darvin Forde and skipper Isaiah Jones. Darvin Forde led the scoring with a well-played 80, with six fours and seven sixes. Captain Isaiah Jones made 79 with seven fours and 4 sixes.

Other useful contributions came from Kanil Nelson with 31, Leon Alexander 27, Ashton Alexander 22 and Jaden Khodra 15. The wicket takers for the Daren Ganga Cricket Academy were Fareem Bann with four wickets, Aidan Bodoe with 2 and 1 wicket each to Nityum Mongru, Jayden Sahadeo and Kayden Manohar.

In reply, the Daren Ganga Cricket Academy were restricted to 100 all out in 21.5 overs, with Matthias Mahabir making 21 and Kayden Manchar 14.

The wicket takers for the Northern Cluster boys were, Leon Alexander with 3 for 11 in 4.5 overs, Isaiah Jones 2 for 0 in 1 over, Bjorn Fanis 2 for 17 in 4 overs and 1 wicket to female Selena Ross.

RESULT: The Northern Cluster Grassroots 17 and Under Representative Team Defeated the Daren Ganga Cricket Academy Representative Team by 262 Runs.

The 6th Annual Northern Cluster Grassroots Summer Cricket Camp in Saint Lucia continued on Thursday, August 10, 2023, with Day # 10 at the Beausejour Indoor Facility. 

The 6th Annual Northern Cluster Grassroots Summer Cricket Camp in Saint Lucia continued on Wednesday, August 9, 2023 with Day #9 spent having fun at a private beach in the North of the Island.

The sixty (60) strong campers spent the day in a picnic setting, playing various games, relaxing sea bath and having lots to eat and drink.
