Jamaica: Kamina Johnson Smith- Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade of Jamaica, expressed sincere gratitude to the Prime Minister, Dr Keith Rowley, for his public endorsement of her Commonwealth Secretary-General candidacy.  

Kamina Smith stated that they wholeheartedly welcomed the support of Trinidad and Tobago for her as a Caribbean sister island. 

Through her social media post, she noted, “Expressing sincere gratitude this morning to Dr Keith Rowley for his public endorsement of my CSG candidacy. Trinidad and Tobago’s support of me as a Caribbean sister whose strong voice they know well is warmly welcomed. KJS for CSG.”

Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago Keith Rowley hailed Kamina Johnson Smith publicly at the Agro-Investment Forum and Expo hosted by Guyana. At the conference, where all CARICOM Heads of government, PM Rowley stated that they truly supported the candidacy for CSG of Kamina Smith. 

Through his social media post, PM Keith Rowley exclaimed, “Trinidad and Tobago supports Kamina Johnson-Smith, Jamaica’s Minister of Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade, for the post of Secretary General of the Commonwealth.”

Kamina Johnson Smith has been elected candidate of Jamaica for the top position and conducted influential tours to different countries to promote herself. 

Recently she visited various African countries where she met diplomatic leaders and held a discussion on the change in the position of the Commonwealth. 

Moreover, Kamina Johnson Smith also joined Agro-Investment Forum and Expo, which was hosted by President Irfaan Ali in Guyana and interacted with different leaders over there. 

Elections to fill the post take place at the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting in Kigali, Rwanda, in late June.

Kamina Smith also shared various more moments in vast, beautiful, multicultural Lethem at the border of Guyana and Brazil. She truly appreciated this well-organized undertaking by the government of Guyana, ensuring productive and fulfilling time spent in #Guyana.

Earlier, Kamina Smith also received a significant endorsement from the political leaders of the United Kingdom. Prime Minister Boris Johnson also endorsed her candidacy.

Prime Minister of Jamaica Andrew Holness also extended gratitude to PM Rowley and UK PM Boris Johnson for their public endorsement in favour of Jamaica Foreign Minister Kamina Johnson Smith.
