Roseau, Dominica: The sudden and torrential tropical-depression levels of precipitation directly impacted the production and caused the emergency evacuation of the Tropical Disco stage-roof structure in Dominica.

The incident occurred at early Sunday morning at approximately 3:38 am.

After receiving patron reports and conducting swift assessments: production crews were notified of pooling water and began responding to various tent-structures around the VIP but, were unable to make it to the “Tropical Disco” in time given the sudden nature of events. Based on communication timelines it appears the rain-shower-to-collapse happened in mere minutes.

Members of the primary organizing team were present in the structure when the incident occurred and were first to respond. Patrons, helping patrons and on-site fire/medic first responders were on the scene within seconds given their extremely close proximity.

In total, they had sixteen (16) patrons report to the on-site medical facility where they were treated for cuts and bruises at the VIP Medical bay and three (3) were then referred to the A&E @ DCFH for X-rays and further medical examination. All were cleared medically and released.

This accident was truly unprecedented. They are so grateful that everyone affected is recovering
