Tokyo Olympics: Kirani James of Grenada wins 400m semi-final on first position

Kirani James of Grenada won his semifinal race on the first position of Men’s 400m in a quick and comfortable pace with a time of 43.88 seconds and registered the second-fastest time in the world at Tokyo Olympics 2020.

Grenada: Kirani James of Grenada won his semifinal race on the first position of Men’s 400m in a quick and comfortable pace with a time of 43.88 seconds and registered the second-fastest time in the world at Tokyo Olympics 2020.

Colombia’s A Zambrano ended up on the second position with 43.93 seconds and L Bonevacia complete it by 44.63 seconds. The final match will take place on August 5, which will decide whether Kirani James can retain his position to win the Gold Medal of Grenada or competitors over power him.

James is the only person in Grenada who has managed to win an Olympic medal in the country. He won the 400m at the World Championships in 2011 and the 2012 London Olympics. After winning the gold medal in London Olympics, he was bestowed legend status in the small island country, Grenada. James in 2012, during his gold medal run, completed the race in only 43.94 seconds, becoming the first runner from outside the UK to break the 44-second mark.
