Tobago: Chief Secretary’s Bago T-10 Cricket Blast tournament returns in April

The 2023 edition of the Chief Secretary's Bago T-10 Cricket Blast comes to the Cyd Gray Sporting Complex in Roxborough next month in Tobago

Trinidad and Tobago: The 2023 edition of the Chief Secretary’s Bago T-10 Cricket Blast comes to the Cyd Gray Sporting Complex in Roxborough next month in Tobago. This will be the third instalment of the tournament, which takes place from April 3rd through April 9th.

In 2019, the Rainforest Rangers lifted the trophy, while Buccoo Reef Divers and Little Tobago Islanders were the joint champions in 2022. “The Chief Secretary’s Bago T-10 Cricket Blast is the biggest cricketing event in the country. The T-10 is the short- est format of the game. It is short, sweet, and very exciting. We have some of the biggest names in this format, including national players Jason Mohammed, Tion Webster, and

Mark Deyal. We also have four players from St Vincent and the Grenadines returning to play again this year,” Tobago Cricket Association (TCA) PRO Marcus Daniel said.

The winning team will pocket $20,000, while the second-placed team gets $10,000 and the third-placed team receives $5,000. There will be two matches per day with the exception of Finals Day when three matches will be played. 

There will also be a Celebrity Game on the last day, featuring West Indies opening batsman Evin Lewis. Matches will start at 5 pm and 7 pm. On Finals Day, the first game will begin at 2 pm.

The four teams participating in this year’s tournament are the Fort King George Gunners, Rainforest Rangers, Buccoo Reef Divers and Little Tobago Islanders. Hosted by the Tobago Cricket Association, the Chief Secretary’s Bago T-10 Cricket Blast is sponsored by the Office of the Chief Secretary. 

The entrance fee is $30 for the preliminary games and $50 for the finals. For more information, people can contact the Tobago Cricket Association at 774-7326.
