GASA is again proud of the performances of our National swimmers, this time the Goodwill competitors. The delegation of Goodwill participants returned home yesterday from their participation in last weekend’s XXVI Goodwill Swim Meet, which was held at the Aquatic Centre in Couva, Trinidad.

Each swimmer obtained success in their performances, creating either personal best times or medals, as is the case with Anaika Charles. Special mention must be made of this international and regional competitor, Anaika, who dominated the Girls 15-17 Breaststroke events. Anaika, who had a short break from competitions, is back and continues to showcase her abilities as a breaststroker. In the 50m SC breaststroke finals, she raced herself to first position in a time of 28.16 and in the 100m, in a time of 1:17.69, breaking the Goodwill record of 1:18.52, held by Kimberley Willoughby since 2013. She also obtained third position in the 50m SC freestyle in a time of 28.16.

Shelby Neckles, Parshawn Haynes and Mallon Patterson all did personal best times and must be commended for their performances also. The team was accompanied by coach Gerson Escobar Fernandez.
