The 2023 Commonwealth Youth Games Seventh Edition have officially been declared open at the Hasley Crawford Stadium in Port of Spain on Friday, August 04, 2023

St Kitts and Nevis Olympic Committee (SKNOC) and Commonwealth Games Association (SKNCGA) will be participating in the 2023 Commonwealth Youth Games

The government of Dominica has taken a decision to provide Thea Lafond with a monetary award of $200 000 in recognition of her medal-winning performances at the Commonwealth games and the NACAC Senior Championships. 

Prime Minister Dickon Mitchell also welcomed Anderson Peters and Coach Paul Philip and appreciated them for securing a silver medal in the games. 

Patricia Scotland- the Secretary General of the Commonwealth, appreciated Birmingham and the Commonwealth Games Federation for their incredible work and the fantastic hosting of the Commonwealth Games 2022.

In the morning session, swimmers Jayhan Odlum-Smith and Mikaili Charlemagne swam one Heat each at the Sandwell Aquatic Centre.

Through her social media, CSG Patricia Scotland shared a glimpse of the 2022 Commonwealth Games. She also expressed the pleasure of meeting many athletes from around the Commonwealth. 

On Thursday, July 28, 2022, at the alexander stadium of Birmingham, the Commonwealth Games witnessed an official opening ceremony. In the ceremony, every participating country graced the stage in order to represent their respective countries.

In the meeting, every member state of the Commonwealth has shown their appearance. CSG Patricia Scotland expressed pleasure and joy at the fact that this was the first meeting since the Commonwealth family grew from 54 to 56 nations.
