St Kitts and Nevis National Carnival hosted the Sugar Mas awards 2022 on November 12, 2022. This ceremony takes place at the Marriott Ball Room, where over sixty carnival stakeholders will be honoured for their contribution over the past fifty-one (51) years.
The Caribbean country will host Miss Montserrat 2022 Contestant amid the 60th carnival 2022. The government also introduced Miss Montserrat 2022 Delegate- Serina Aaliyah Laird.
After an absence of (2) two years, the Junior Calypso Monarch returns to the Carnival calendar. This competition started in 1973 and has been a staple during the annual celebrations.
It was the first time, Dr Hilaire was able to sit back and watch the carnival parade of bands. The bands such as Xuvo, Fuzion, or Legends create vibrant and authentic views of the magnificent beauty of the culture of Saint Lucia.
PM Philip J Pierre stated that after a halt of two years due to the COVID-19 pandemic, the country had witnessed thousands of Carnival revelers who will play their mas in the parade of the bands.
As the Carnival is ongoing in the country, with the commencement of the King and Queen of the Bands, various activities for Saint Lucia Carnival 2022 have culminated in the first weekend.
During the carnival season, there is a general tendency for participants to let their guard down on many different levels. It is important that precaution is taken to ensure safety for all at this time.
