St Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG) have secured the Gloria Ballantyne Trophy in the latest season of the OECS/ECCR Netball Series, hosted by Dominica in 2022 on Saturday, February 19, 2022.
While extending the congratulations to the team, Prime Minister of St Vincent and the Grenadines (SVG) Ralph Gonsalves took to Twitter and cited, “Congratulations ladies, the entire SVG feels really proud of you as with your spectacular performance, you have secured the Caribbean Netball Association OECS/ECCB Second International Series. Your fighting spirit and determination were on display throughout the competition and paid off ultimately in success”.

Further, the Minister of States with Responsibility for Foreign Affairs and Foreign Trade SVG Keisal Peters have also poured wishes to the team and tweeted, “Congratulations to St. Vincent and the Grenadines’ Netball Team for appearing as the champions of the 2nd OECS/ECCB International Netball Series!!!! You conquered the tournament, you portrayed your country well, and we are all very proud of you”.

Dominica has hosted the second OECS-ECCB Internations Netball Series in 2022, and the final stage of the sports have been scheduled from 12 to February 18 2022. The final of the tournament was held on February 19, 2022, which was secured by St Vincent and the Grenadines at the Windsor Park Sports Stadium of Dominica.
In the tournament, the five members of the ECCB have competed with each other, and these five participants were Antigua and Barbuda, the Commonwealth of Dominica, St Lucia, St Kitts and Nevis and St Vincent and the Grenadines.

The players who have secured the awards in the netball series include Mary Ann Frederick (St Vincent & the Grenadines) have appreciated the Most Goal award, Joseann Antoine (St Vincent & the Grenadines) have bagged best defending player, Shania Pompey (St Vincent & the Grenadines) secured best centre court player, while Shania Pompey (St Vincent & the Grenadines) attained player of the tournament award and Latonia Blackman (Barbados) have secured the most accurate shooter awards.
