Stakeholders Recognition Award Ceremony held in Belize

The Ministry of Rural Transformation, Community Development and Labour and Local Government hosted 'Stakeholders Recognition Award Ceremony' in Belmopan on 26 April 2021.

Belize: The Ministry of Rural Transformation, Community Development and Labour and Local Government hosted ‘Stakeholders Recognition Award Ceremony’ in Belmopan on 26 April 2021.

Ministry held its first Stakeholders Recognition Award Ceremony. The purpose of the ceremony was to underline the outstanding contributions of different stakeholders in pursuing the mission of the Ministry in service to the citizens of Belize.

The recipients of the award were Hope Springs Water for longstanding partnership and support, Belize City Council- for innovation in the service delivery and management, and Central Information Technology Office (CITO)- for support in the online transition of ministry services.

Mr Daniel Shol, while receiving the Stakeholders Recognition Awards were representing Hope Springs Water, Mayor Bernard Wagner, Mayor of Belize City, and Mr Ian Smith, Chief Information Officer at Central Information Technology Office (CITO).

Officials who were present during the award ceremony were Honourable Oscar Requeña who is the Minister of Rural Transformation, Community Development, Labour and Local Government, Honourable Ramiro Ramirez- Minister of State and Mr Valentino Shal, CEO in the Ministry.

The Ministry of Rural Transformation, Community Development and Labour and Local Government congratulated all the recipients of the awards and thanked them for their overall services and continued assistance to the Ministry.

Belize is one of the Caribbean nations. John Briceno is the current Prime Minister of the Caribbean island- Belize. Briceno started his career in politics when he was first elected to the Belize House Of Representatives in 1993 from the Orange walk central constituency.

Then in 1994, John Briceño was elected as the Co-Chairman of the People’s United Party of Belize, then in 1996, he was elected as the Deputy Party Leader and on 30 March 2008, John Briceño was elected as the leader of the PUP party.

On 11 November 2020, the PUP led by John Briceño, won the 2020 General elections defeating the United democratic party who was led by Patrick Faber. He took office as Prime Minister of Belize on 12 November 2020.
