St Lucia’s National Football Team participates in CONCACAF Nations League

The Nations League was created to mirror the idea of the UEFA Nations League, aiming to provide more meaningful, competitive fixtures when international friendlies would usually be played.

Castries, St Lucia: The National Football Team of Saint Lucia is participating in the CONCACAF Nations League. CONCACAF is the regional governing body of North America, Central America and the Caribbean

The Nations League was created to mirror the idea of the UEFA Nations League, aiming to provide more meaningful, competitive fixtures when international friendlies would usually be played.

It was also noted that some minor nations were playing fewer than ten games in a four-year period, and this gave them the chance of regular competitive football.

The St. Lucia Athletics Association held its Individual Championships this past weekend, and it appears Saint Lucia has an emerging well of talent, ready to compete on the world stage. Marvin St. Louis of the Ministry of Youth Development and Sports – Saint Lucia reports.

Earlier, the athletes of St Lucia also participated in the swimming in the Ist Caribbean Games in Guadeloupe, and Slaf swimmers have been qualified for it. The athletes are Mikaili Charlemagne, Jayhan Odlum Smith, Naima Hazell, D’Andre Blanchard and Tristan Dorville.

The finals of the swimming competition of the Ist Caribbean Games Guadeloupe 2022 will be taken place from Thursday, Jun 30 to Saturday, Jul 2 at the Inter-municipal Pool located in Abymes, Guadeloupe.

The competition included thirty-six events, such as 17 women’s events, 17 men’s events and two mixed events. The opening sessions of the competition will be taken place with the 50m and 100m series, and it is further followed by the timed-ranked finals of the 200m, 400m, 800m and 1500m events.

The finals will be taken place after a 30- minute break, and the games will be 50m and 100m. It will be held before the end of the meetings by the Mixed Relays.

People who are born between Jan 1, 2022, and Dec 31 2007could participate in the U23 competition.
