Castries, St Lucia: Celebrity Millennium called into Port Castries, marking the resumption of the gradual and responsible reintroduction of cruise tourism to Saint Lucia on June 29, 2022. Noting the last port call was on March 16, 2020, the resumption of cruise service was a cause for celebration and illustrated our tremendous partnership with the cruise industry.
Guests were surprised on arrival with gifts, including branded Saint Lucia keepsakes and return stay packages.
On the economic front, by June 29, 8,386 individuals were re-employed within the tourism and cruise sector, including 1,500 taxi drivers, 135 tour guides, and some 115 vendors who were ready to welcome cruise visitors.
Today, one year later we celebrate just a part of the progress that has demonstrated our resiliency as a nation. Saint Lucia has thus far welcomed over 166,000 cruise visitors.
