Castries, St Lucia: Two more matches were completed as the 2022 Ministry of Youth Development and Sports Under-15 Secondary School 40 Overs Cricket Tournament continued on Thursday, 9th June. Castries Comprehensive Secondary School recorded a massive 178-run victory over Ciceron Secondary, while Sir Ira Simmons Secondary sealed a 9-wicket win over Grande Rivière Secondary.

At the Gros Islet Playing Field, Castries Comprehensive, led by an outstanding all-round performance by Kareem Francis, completed a comfortable 178-run victory over Ciceron Secondary. CCSS, batting first in a 35-overs-a-side match, clocked 247-for-7 with Kareem Francis top-scoring with a well-played 83 comprising13-fours and 3-sixes. Other valuable contributions came from captain Kaylum Thomas with 33, Cayden Francois with 31 and Jadinel Clovis 24-not-out.

The wicket-takers for Ciceron Secondary were, Leoneil Davis with 4 for 60 in 8-overs and 1 wicket each to Hayden James, Darvelle Gustave and Omari Joseph.

In reply, Kareem Francis with bowling figures of 6-for-17 in 6.2 overs with his right arm off spin, undermined Ciceron Secondary’s batting line-up as they were bowled out for 69 in 13.2 overs with Omari Joseph making 14 and Jean Louis Daniel 10. The other wicket taker for CCSS was Linsey James with 3-for-33 in 6-overs.

At the Mindoo Philip Park, Grand Rivière Secondary batting first was dismissed for 34 in 13.3 overs. The wicket takers for Sir Ira Simmons Secondary were, Jaedon Khodra with 3-for-2 in 3.3 overs, Jarvis Weeks 3-for-8 in 3 overs and 1 wicket each to Cornelius Edward and Kenrick Louis.

In reply Sir Ira Simmons easily got to their target finishing on 35 for 1 in 6.5 overs. Trust Mathurin was the lone wicket taker for Grand Rivière Secondary.

The tournament continues on Friday June 10, 2022 from 10:00am with the following match ups:
