Castries, Saint Lucia: The St Lucia Sports Academy advances into the semi final stage of the 2022 Ministry of Youth Development and Sports Secondary School 40 Overs Under – 15 Cricket Tournament.

On Tuesday, July 6 at the Gros Islet Playing Field, The St Lucia Sports Academy had the better of Corinth Secondary, winning by 6 wickets.

Batting first, Corinth Secondary was dismissed for 115 in 26.1 overs with captain Jaheem Simeon top scoring with 49 and Neil Poyotte making 18.

The wicket takers for the St Lucia Sports Academy were, skipper Theo Edward with 3 for 34 in 8 overs, Nathaniel Joseph 2 for 10 in 5 overs, Sheldon Willie 2 for 20 in 5 overs and 1 wicket each to Clint Dixon and Kayan Hippolyte.

In reply, The Saint Lucia Sports Academy got to their target comfortably, finishing on 116 for 4 in 16.1 overs with Theo Edward making an attractive 35 and Zanakki Louis 22.

The wicket takers for Corinth Secondary were, Roystan Fanis with 2 for 19 in 4.1 overs and Jaheem Simeon 2 for 35 in 5 overs.

RESULT: SAINT LUCIA SPORTS ACADEMY DEFEATED CORINTH SECONDARY BY 6 WICKETS.

The tournament which was severely affected by the weather, concludes on Thursday, July 7.

On Wednesday, July 6 in semi final action, St Mary’s College comes up against The St Lucia Sports Academy from 10:00am at the Gros Islet Playing Field.

The winner of this match meets Leon Hess Comprehensive in the tournament’s GRAND FINAL to take place on Thursday, July 7, 2022 from 10:00am at the DAREN SAMMY CRICKET GROUND.

Earlier, June 5, 2022, The 2022 Ministry of Youth Development and Sports Secondary School 40 Overs Under – 15 School Cricket Tournament resumed on Monday July 4, with quarter final action.

At the Piaye Playing Field, Leon Hess Comprehensive advanced closer to the finals with a comfortable 88 run victory over Vieux Fort Comprehensive Secondary.
