St Lucia: SLP to hold a virtual public meeting on Sunday evening

The opposition party would conduct a virtual meet on 11 July 2021 from the Peoples' Assembly. This meet would be conducted under the theme of 'Time up'.

Saint Lucia: The Saint Lucia Labour Party, currently the opposition party, is all speeding up for the election campaigns ahead of general elections on 26 July 2021.

The opposition party would conduct a virtual meet on 11 July 2021 from the Peoples’ Assembly. This meet would be conducted under the theme of ‘Time up’.

This virtual meet would be telecasted live at – MBC, Choice TV, HTS, Facebook and live broadcasted on Liberty FM 92.3

On 7 July, the opposition party also conducted a public meet at Ciceron, during which SLP stated that the five-year tenure of the current UWP – United Workers’ Party had been a failed tenure and added that PM Chastanet had taken poor decisions for the island was not even able to tackle the COVID-19 pandemic.

SLP party leader noted that if they win this years’ election, then they would implement various policies out of which two are – the citizens would only have to pay tax on income of 3,000 dollars (per month), and the SLP would take the burden of facility fees of the parents who are jobless and cannot pay the fees for their children.

The opposition leader, during a public meet of 7 July 2021, asserted, “The SLP put the citizens first, unlike the UWP government, who does not care about the future of the nation and its residents.”

Following the statement during his address, SLP Leader ensured the public that there would not be any kind of discrimination.

“I promise to all the citizens that whosoever is corrupted would have to face the law,” the opposition leader further added.

Other SLP party members – Ernest Hilarie. Wayne Girad, Jeremiah Norbert, Kenson Casimir were also present at the meet on 7, along with the party leader – Philip J Pierre.

SLP has also asked the citizens to cast their precious vote wisely and choose the St Lucia Labour Party.
