On Wednesday, May 11, 2022, the ministry of health of St Lucia updated the revised protocols for the isolation of the vaccinated and positive for COVID-19 or unvaccinated and positive people.

Castries, St Lucia: Amid the rise in the cases of the COVID-19 pandemic, the ministry of Health and Wellness of St Lucia revised several protocols for the pandemic. 

On Wednesday, May 11, 2022, the ministry of health of St Lucia updated the revised protocols for the isolation of the vaccinated and positive for COVID-19 or unvaccinated and positive people. 

As per the health ministry, the revised protocols for isolation are as follows: 

It ended isolation for people who were confirmed positive and had symptoms. 

  • The isolation period starts from the day symptoms commence. 
  • It would last for a period of ten days. 
  • Isolation comes to an end once symptoms are not being experienced for the last three days of the isolation period. 

Besides this, the revised COVID-19 protocols for the isolation. 

Unvaccinated and positive for COVID-19 pandemic.

  • Unvaccinated people who have no symptoms during isolation are required to complete days of isolation. 
  • Unvaccinated people who develop symptoms while in isolation must complete ten days of isolation from the day symptoms start.  

COVID-19 situtaion in St Lucia: 

On Wednesday, May 11, 2022, the Ministry of Health, Wellness and Elderly Affairs confirmed a total of 107 new COVID-19 cases. Out of the total 330 samples collected on Tuesday, May 10, 2022, 309 samples have been confirmed against the COVID-19 pandemic from the Ezra Long Laboratory. On the other hand, a total of 21 samples have been confirmed from the Laboratory Services and Consultations Limited. 

With the emergence of the new cases of the novel coronavirus, the positive rate of the cases reached 32.4 percent of the samples that were processed on the date. The number of the confirmed cases of the COVID-19 pandemic stood at 23,978 since the COVID-19 pandemic began in St Lucia. 

Ministry of Health stated that the number of active cases of the COVID-19 pandemic stood at 461. Further, a total of eleven positive cases of the novel coronavirus have been admitted to the Respiratory Hospital. Most of the cases were severely ill.  

As per the status of the vaccination, a total of 53,691 people have received full doses of the vaccine against the COVID-19 pandemic. On the other hand, 5,320 people are partially vaccinated, while 7,312 people have received their booster shots.
