Castries, St Lucia: The Ministry of Health, Wellness and Elderly Affairs confirmed that a total of 29 new cases of the COVID-19 pandemic in St Lucia on Saturday, June 18, 2022.
As per the Health Ministry, a total of 204 samples were processed on Friday, June 17, 2022, and out of which, 185 samples were from the Ezra Long Laboratory and 19 samples from the Laboratory Services and Consultations Limited.
From June 14 to June 17, 2022, the collections of the COVID-19 samples took place, and the positive cases of the pandemic made up 14.2 percent of the samples processed on that date.
With the emergence of the new cases of the novel coronavirus, the confirmed cases of the COVID-19 pandemic brought to the 26,751 to date.
The Ministry of Health also confirmed that a total of 66 individuals have recovered from the COVID-19 pandemic. With the emergence of the new cases, the toll of the active cases in the country to date stood at 265. Currently, there is a total of nine positive cases of the COVID-19 admitted at the Respiratory Hospital, of which one is critically ill.
As per the statistics, a total of 54,169 people have been fully vaccinated against the viral infection of the novel coronavirus since the pandemic has emerged in the country.
In the total vaccination, 5,330 people are partially vaccinated, and 7,564 people have also received their booster shots for the COVID-19 pandemic.
Vaccination will resume on Monday, June 20, 2022, at various Wellness Centre according to the published COVID-19 schedule of the vaccination. Vaccination will be available from 9 am to 4 pm.
The Ministry of Health, Wellness and Elderly Affairs of St Lucia will be provided daily updates and schedules to the public because new data becomes available.
