Castries, St Lucia: The Ministry of Youth Development and Sports 2022 Under-15 Secondary Schools 40-Overs Cricket Tournament continued on Wednesday, June 8 with three more matches.

At the Gros Islet Playing Field, Corinth Secondary led with a century opening partnership by captain Jaheem Simeon and Royston Fanis to register a 121-run victory over Patricia D. James Secondary School. Corinth Secondary batting first in a match reduced to 37 overs a side, scored 264-for-5 in their allocated overs. The opening pair registered 160 for the 1st wicket with Jaheem Simeon scoring 77 (12-fours and 1 six) while Royston Fanis added 47.

Other useful scores came from Messi Gerson with 24, Jn. Claude Emmanuel 17-not-out and Ethan Pereneau 13.

The wicket-takers for Patricia D James Secondary were, Malik Louis, Kimani Clement and Stanislaus Mental with 1-wicket each.

In reply, Patricia D James Secondary was dismissed for 143 in 18.3 overs with Danielle Pilgrim scoring 31, Niekyah Thomas 26 and Devonte Jimmy 10.

The wicket-takers for Corinth Secondary were, Ethan Pereneau with 3-for-25 in 3 overs, Michael Anthony 3-for-25 in 4 overs, Royston Fanis 2-for-0 in 1.3 overs and 1 wicket each to Jaheem Simeon and Jn Claude Emmanuel.

At the Mindoo Philip Park, St. Lucia Sports Academy led by a century from skipper Theo Edward and a 5-wicket haul including a ‘hat trick’ from Sheldon Willie completed a 175-run victory over Leon Hess Comprehensive Secondary.

St Lucia Sports Academy batting first in a game reduced to 35-overs-a-side, made 222-for-2 in 29 overs, with Theo Edward recording the first century of the tournament. The elegant right-handed top-order batsman made a well played 112-not-out (16-fours and 3-sixes). Zanaki Louis gave excellent support enjoying a knock of 57-not-out which featured 8 fours. The wicket-takers for Leon Hess Comprehensive were, Leon Alexander and Zack Louis with 1 wicket each.

In reply, Leon Hess Comprehensive was bowled out for 47 in 11 overs. The chief destroyer with the ball for the St. Lucia Sports Academy was right-arm seam bowler Sheldon Willie with impressive figures of 5-for-12 in 4 overs including a ‘hat trick’, the first of the tournament so far. The other wicket-takers were, Nathaniel Joseph with 2 wickets in 4 overs and Theo Edward with 1 wicket.

The match between Vieux Fort Comprehensive Secondary and Choiseul Secondary scheduled for the Piaye Playing Field was abandoned, as no play was possible due to a wet outfield.
