Further, a small delegation such as Commissioner of Police Milton Desir, Deputy Permanent Secretary Ricky Quinlan, Assistant Commissioner of Police Cruscita Descartes - Peleus, Staff Officer ASP Bernard Gaston and other representatives of the Department of Home Affairs has accompanied Minister Albert-Poynette.

St Lucia: The Minister for Home Affairs, Dr Virginia Albert-Poyotte of St Lucia, visited the family of deceased Police Constable PC863 Nathan Timaitre on Friday, March 11, 2022. 

A special visit was also paid to SPC 83 Calvin Isaac, better known as “Officer King”, and his family.

Further, a small delegation such as Commissioner of Police Milton Desir, Deputy Permanent Secretary Ricky Quinlan, Assistant Commissioner of Police Cruscita Descartes – Peleus, Staff Officer ASP Bernard Gaston and other representatives of the Department of Home Affairs has accompanied Minister Albert-Poynette. 

During his meeting with the family of the deceased, the Minister for Home Affairs assured the families of Dieudonne and Timaitre, as well as Officer King, who have been severely and directly impacted by the tragic incident on the night of Saturday, March 5, 2022.  

He asserted that the entire island was devastated and mourned along with them and also prayed for them at this difficult time.

“Well, I am very much disturbed with the victims of this devastated and tragic incident that has been faced by the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force. I have met with the family of Officer Nathan Timaitre and expressed our grief condolences, and gave the personal touch and assurance that we are there for them and care for the family and his loved ones. Moreover, we will continue to do what we can do to support them and will continually fight against criminal accords and activities in St Lucia,” underscored Minister Albert-Poynette. 

The Government remains committed to its duty and will fulfil its responsibility with Officer King, who is actually on the road to recovery and with my presence and some of the officers with me, I think that will give him the encouragement to continue to keep the faith so that he recovers speedily and we hope to see him back on duty to continue to keep our country safe, Minister Albert-Poynette said.

The family of Police Constable PC863 Nathan Timaitre has expressed heartfelt gratitude to the Government for the tremendous outpouring of support that has been demonstrated towards the family, the Royal Saint Lucia Police Force and by extension and the general public for commiserating with them at this time of loss and sadness.
