
St Kitts and Nevis: Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Marine Resources and Cooperatives of St Kitts is all set to host the “Agri-Easter Night Market” on Wednesday, April 5, 2023, from 5 pm to 10 pm. The market will be held before Good Friday at Basseterre Public Market.
Registration for the night market is open to all. The Ministry of Agriculture of St Kitts invited the public, farmers, and vendors to participate in the night market and get access to several initiatives and new opportunities in the agriculture sector.
The market will feature several special products and people will get the opportunity to grab these substances for their farming. The products are as follows:
- Coconut dumplings
- Fruits & vegetables
- Fresh meat & fish
- Saltfish
- Coconut water
- Grilled seafood and so much more!
Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Marine Resources of St Kitts took to Facebook and stated that Easter Night Market will be held on the Wednesday before GOOD FRIDAY!
This is the chance to grab your coconut for your dumplings, fish for the family, your cassava for that baked bread, sweet potatoes for your pies/ pancakes, eggs for that bfast omelette, saltfish and much more.
Registration forms are available at the Ministry of Agriculture, 3rd Floor Government Headquarters, the Department of Agriculture LaGuerite and the Basseterre Public Market.

The government of St Kitts and Nevis launched several initiatives to promote the agriculture sector and empower the farmers and the market will also further enhance the quality of farming. It will provide an efficient platform to know more about the techniques of farming and the ways to improve the fertility power of the crops during the different seasons.
Earlier, the Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Marine Resources of St Kitts also announced various initiatives. Earlier, all food producers, agronomic specialists and university students are being encouraged to register and take advantage of an upcoming strategic “water and soil management for the sustainability of agri-food systems” online training course.
This program is being facilitated by the Regional Fund for Triangular Cooperation in Latin America and the Caribbean, and is a joint initiative between the German and Argentine governments, aiming to strengthen the management of water and soil in the participating islands by developing strategies and technologies to contribute to sustainability of agri-food systems. This online course aims to provide stakeholders with knowledge and technical tools to better manage water and soil resources to make agri-food systems more sustainable.
