St Kitts and Nevis: St Kitts and Nevis Patriots turned out to be the champion of the inaugural men’s SKYEXCH 6ixty T10 Cricket tournament after lifting its trophy for the first time in the history of the games.
St Kitts and Nevis Patriots won the finals against the Trinbago Knight Riders on Saturday, August 27, 2022. The match was run from August 21, 2022, to August 27, 2022.
In the match, Chris Gayle dropped twice in one over, and after that, he hit the winning runs to see his team as the winners of the tournament. With full enthusiasm, the chase started from the Patriots while uncloaking the extra Powerplay for the first time and raced to 43/0 after just 20 balls.
In the final over, Gayle and Fletcher rotated strike until four were required, and Shakera Selman created a magical spell to make them winners.
On the ultimate win, wishes have been poured from all across the Caribbean, especially from St Kitts and Nevis.
Cabinet Minister of St Kitts and Nevis Labour Party-led government took to social media and extended heartfelt congratulation on the historic victory.
Cabinet Minister of St Kitts and Nevis- Samal Duggins stated that it is really exciting for the twin-island Federation to win the SKYEXCH 6IXTY T10 Cricket Tournament. He said, “Congratulations to the St. Kitts-Nevis Patriots, winners of the first-ever SKYEXCH 6IXTY T10 Cricket Tournament.”
He further added that the Federation’s very own Jeremiah Louis and Jaden Carmichael were a part of the winning squad.
“It was a thrilling game, and now, we look forward to supporting our team as they begin their defence of the CPL T20 Championship on Wednesday, August 31 at 7 PM at the Warner Park Cricket Stadium right here in St. Kitts- Nevis,” said the cabinet minister.
On the other hand, the Girl’s team of Barbados Royals won the inaugural women’s SKYEXCH 6ixty T10 Cricket tournament.
