Under the National Housing Corporation (NHC) of St Kitts and Nevis administration, a total of 504 homes in the country has been constructed in the country since 2015. The houses have been built in parts of St Kitts to aid the various families demanding homes. 

As per the information ministry of St Kitts and Nevis, resilient homes have been built in around eight constituencies in St Kitts. 

While emphasizing the significance of the step, Eugene Hamilton, a minister responsible for Human Settlement in St Kitts and Nevis and cited that the efforts made by the Government of the country to aid the deserving individuals to get houses that would facilitate their families for generations and he is really proud of that. 

 Minister Hamilton expressed,” COVID-19 pandemic has halted the lives of the people, but the project under the National Housing Cooperation (NHC) has proven an efficient step to help those who are in vast demands of houses”. 

He further recognized the step as a significant achievement of the Government in the short period and noted,” In COVID-19 pandemic, we have faced difficulties as it has slow the speed of producing homes, but despite that, the Government has fulfilled the initiative on time”. 

The ministry also mentioned the other projects which are not included in the 504 homes over the last 24 hours, including 24 studio apartments at Ponds and 15 Petrocasas homes at Mansion village and underscored,” the project will benefit another 39 families”.   

As per the reports of the information Ministry of St Kitts and Nevis, the administration of Team Unity will be going to hand over the keys to the first set of Petrocasas houses situated in Mansion village on Friday, February 18, 2022, at around 4:00 pm. 

Earlier, the National Housing Cooperation has distributed 20 homes to the citizens of the Stapleton community in St.Peter’s over the past two weeks. 

Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis Timothy Harris will also attend the housing ceremony with the Minister of Human Settlement, Eugene Hamilton. 

Petrocases means the houses, which includes oil houses, and the by-products of Venezuela’s oil refining industry is used to construct the homes.
