St Kitts and Nevis to launch New TV Channel- "MoENT" on July 1
St Kitts and Nevis: In order to uplift the entertainment and film sector and unearth the new and local talent, the government of St Kitts and Nevis is all set to provide a new and powerful platform by opening a new channel named MoENT TV.
The channel will be launched on July 01, 2022, to create new opportunities for the new generation. Minister responsible for the Ministry of Entrepreneurship, Entertainment and Talent Development (MoENT), Akilah Byron-Nisbett, announced the opening of the new channel and stated that the ministry is happy and proud to launch its own TV Channel.
In the press conference held at the NEMA Conference Room on Wednesday, June 01, 2022, she noted, “The opening of their own channel aims to showcase local talent or emerge them by providing them free access to a platform. The platform will be entirely dedicated to airing locally created creative content across the clock.”
In addition to that, the channel will also aid in creating or enhancing the new craft by setting content with quality standings akin to international TV channels. It will also lead to the generation of revenue by providing a revenue stream to creatives for ads that run during their product airtime.
MoENT TV will be featured in the channel line-up, which is offered by The Cable, which is the leading provider of cable television in St Kitts.
She further indicated, “We are keeping an eye on The Cable so that the channel could not reach only at the local level but also at the regional as well as international level.
Further, MoENT, in collaboration with Studio 327 and the SKN Chamber of Industry and Commerce, is all set to present – “Let’s Do This!” – a TV Show that will provide an opportunity for entrepreneurs to pitch their business/business idea to potential investors for a chance to win an XCD$10,000 investment into their business.
Ministry stated that interested have to send their resume and a one-page overview of their business by May 20 for a chance to be a part of the show.
Selected participants will benefit from a FREE 5-week coaching program to prepare them for their final pitch on the show.
