In order to celebrate the 39th anniversary of the Independence of St Kitts and Nevis, the government decided to host a theme competition.

St Kitts and Nevis: In order to celebrate the 39th anniversary of the Independence of St Kitts and Nevis, the government decided to host a theme competition.

The government also outlined the entire criteria for the theme competition, which includes:

Criteria to participate in the “Theme Competition.”

  • The theme must be concise, memorable and be a phrase, a clause or a short sentence of no more than six to eight words. 
  • The theme should be focused o Talent Development and Sustainable Livelihoods. 
  • The theme should accurately reflect the country’s history, current realities, and the standard/shared future to which all citizens should reasonable aspire. 

As per the guidelines, the theme must be submitted by the deadline- Sunday, August 28 2022, by MIDNIGHT. Late entries would be acknowledged or considered. 

According to the other guidelines, the participants have to submit their names, addresses and contact numbers with each entry.

The participants could submit their applications to the email- [email protected] The winners will be awarded the Cash Prize of $1000. 

Entries for the theme competition are accepted from persons of all ages who are citizens and residents of the Federation. The deadline for the submission of the applications will be Sunday, August 28, 2022, by midnight. 

On August 26, 2022, the Independence Committee hosted their first meeting to plan and discuss the activities for the 39th Independence Day of St Kitts and Nevis. The meeting was held at Sands Complex under the chairmanship of Permanent Secretary Sharon Rattan.

Various officials from the Royal St. Christopher and Nevis Police Force and St. Kitts and Nevis Defence Force, the Ministry of Tourism, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the Office of the Prime Minister and the Office of the Premier were present at the meeting. 

The activities which could be performed during Independence Day will be Prime Minister’s Lecture Series, the National Heroes Day Observance Ceremony, the Independence State Church Service, and the Independence Day Military Parade.
