St Kitts and Nevis: Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis- Dr Terrance Drew is all set to host a budget conversation with the nation’s youth on Wednesday, October 11, 2023. The event will be held at St Kitts Marriott Resort Ballroom at 9: 30 am.
The conservation of the budget will be held under the theme- “Transformation to a Sustainable Island State.”
The transformation to a sustainable island state is based on seven pillars of Sustainability:
- Water Security
- Energy Transition
- Food Security
- Sustainable Industry
- Sustainable Settlements
- Circular Economy
- Social Protection
- Robust Protection to all citizens
Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew said that the dialogue will play pivotal role for nurturing the young minds. The event embodies a revolutionary stride in encouraging youth participation in high-level governmental discussions and decision-making processes.
St Kitts and Nevis has been gearing up for the crucial 2024 Budget Debate which is scheduled to be held in December. It will feature series of Budget meetings and the dialogue with the youth of the nation is also part of it.
Further, the foremost aim of the dialogue is to create a resilient, inclusive and sustainable future for St Kitts and Nevis. It will also be focused on the socio-economic viability and environmental sustainability.
Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew said the true conviction, innovation, passion and energy of the youth will harness and navigate their journey towards sustainability.
He said that the young generation will help in generating new ideas and creative ways to pave the path of the sustainability and resilience. It will pay vital role in constructing a future that is resilient, inclusive and prosperous.
PM Terrance Drew also invited the young generation to become the part of the Budget Conversation. It will also help in finding new ideas to empower the youth and their future.
He said that the effective ways of advancing education sector will also be part of the conversation.
