St Kitts and Nevis to host “Back to My Rootz Agriculture Market”, know deets
St Kitts and Nevis: The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Marine Resources of St Kitts and Nevis is all set to host “Back to My Rootz Agriculture Market” on Thursday, February 23, 2023. The market will be opened at Basseterre Public Market from 5 pm to 10 pm.
The Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries, Marine Resources, and Cooperatives is teaming up with the Small Business Development Centre (SBDC) will host the Agri Night Market to promote the agriculture sector and link it with the business.
The Ministry of Agriculture invited the citizens and residents of St Kitts and Nevis to register for the agri market as the registration forms are available. The registration was opened on Monday, February 6, 2023. The forms for registration are available at the Ministry of Agriculture, 3rd Floor government headquarters, the Public Market, the Department of Agriculture, LaGuerite, and the Department of Marine Resources.
The fee for registration is $10. The deadline for registration is Monday, February 20, 2023. Interested persons are asked to contact the Ministry of Agriculture at 467-1016 for further information.
The prime aim of the staging of the Agri Market is to enhance the role of the farmers and agriculturists in the economy of the country. It will feature various events and activities to encourage the farmers and local producers to increase their business at the national level so that they could get wages per their work. The agri-market will also help to create a platform to enhance the efficiency of the local products and people can use the products made by the people of St Kitts and Nevis.
The Ministry of Agriculture is committed to enhancing the agriculture sector and making it a more proficient source of income. Various plans and initiatives have been started by the government of St Kitts and Nevis.
Earlier, the Gideon Force Organic Farm in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture hosted the Organic Market on Sunday, February 5, 2023, at Gideon Organic Farm, Old Road, St Kitts. It has featured Kaya (Cannabis) Products and also celebrates the legacy of Bob Market.
The Organic Market also contained various events and activities as various performers engaged the audience. There was music by Jah Rise Sound and speeches by Ras Agard, Ras Iroy, Ajahlon and Dr. Garfield Alexander.
The Herbal Oil extraction has also presented its demonstration on organic farming. The vendors have included the Gideon Force Organic Farm, House of Yehuda, Spaces, Slips International Ital Creations, Lion of Judah Herbal Remedies, Sugar Town Organics, and Wharton Cannabis Extracts.
The organic farm also witnessed the mesmerizing performance by House of Yehuda, Shiloh, CV, Jah Motion and DJ.
