St Kitts and Nevis to appoint James Sutton as new Commissioner of Police
St Kitts and Nevis: St Kitts and Nevis will appoint James Sutton as the new Commissioner of Police on Thursday, February 23 2023, by hosting an installation ceremony. The announcement was made by Prime Minister Dr Terrance Drew, and he expressed pleasure.
Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis- Dr Terrance Drew, took to social media and invited the citizens to witness the Installation ceremony of the new commissioner of Police- James Sutton, live at ZIZ. The installation ceremony will be taken place at Windsor Park Football Stadium at 5: 00 pm.
While sharing the update, he added, “Tune in to witness the Installation Ceremony of the new Commissioner of Police, James Sutton, live ZIZ on Thursday, February 23 2023.”
ACP and Divisional Commander for Nevis James Sutton will, this Thursday, February 23, be officially installed as the new Commissioner of Police during an official Installation Ceremony.
Sutton will take over from Commissioner Hilroy Brandy, who will be proceeding into retirement. Sutton has over 35 years of experience in the Royal St.Christopher and Nevis Police Force and was most recently the Divisional Commander for the RSCNPF on Nevis.
Earlier, eleven (11) Police Officers from the ranks of Superintendent to Corporal received their letters of confirmation on Wednesday, February 01, 2023.
The letters were handed over by Commissioner of Police Hilroy Brandy during a brief ceremony in his office.
Confirmed were Superintendent James Sutton, Superintendent Everton Mitcham, Superintendent James Francis, Inspector Carleen Phipps, Inspector Jasper Carty, Sergeant Charmaine Audain, Sergeant Jason Audain, Sergeant Javern Weekes, Sergeant Vivian Caesar, Corporal Grandville Chapman and Corporal Randolph Diamond. The Officers, who were previously acting in the rank, are now formally appointed to the post.
Accordingly, the Police Commission of St Kitts and Nevis will undergo major transformations. The appointment of a new Commissioner of Police and a new Deputy Commissioner of Police will aid the changes the government is considering executing.
