St Kitts and Nevis: Team Unity postpones tripartite meeting as mark of respect for Vance Amory

The reason behind the delay in the tripartite meeting is the sudden demise of the former Cabinet minister and Premier of Nevis Vance Amory as the political leaders want to pay tribute to the stateman.

St Kitts and Nevis: The political leader of Team Unity has decided to postpone the tripartite meetings of heads of political parties that are scheduled for Monday, April 4, 2022. The meeting is now scheduled to be held on Wednesday, April 6, 2022. 

The reason behind the delay in the tripartite meeting is the sudden demise of the former Cabinet minister and Premier of Nevis Vance Amory as the political leaders want to pay tribute to the stateman. 

The information has been provided by Mark Brantley- Minister of Foreign Affairs and Civil Aviation and Premier of Nevis. he noted that in the wake of the sad demise of Vance Amory, they have decided to postpone the meeting of the delegations of the Team Unity to Wednesday. 

 Outlining the delay in the meeting, Premier Brantley stated, “Due to the sudden passing of His Excellency Vance Amory, former Cabinet colleague and former Premier of Nevis, we communicated with Prime Minister that it would be appropriate to delay the tripartite meeting of heads of political parties scheduled for today until Wednesday of this week.”

He said that they had talked to the Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis Dr. Timothy Harris and unanimously decided to postpone the meeting. 

Brantley further asserted that the decision had been taken in out of paying respect and courtesy to the founding member of Team Unity Vance Amory. 

The team Unity consisted of various political parties, including the People’s Action Movement (PAM) under the leadership of Shawn K Rickards, who is the Deputy Prime Minister of the Federation of St Kitts and Nevis. Another ally to Team Unity is the Concerned Citizen’s Movement under the leadership of Mark Brantley, who is the Premier of Nevis and Minister of Foreign Affairs of St Kitts and Nevis. And the third ally is the people’s labour part which is run under the leadership of Prime Minister Dr Timothy Harris.

While clearing his stand, Premier Brantley emphasized, “The People’s Action Movement and the Concerned Citizens Movement remain committed to to the founding principles of Team Unity and a better St Kitts and Nevis for all.”

Brantley also shared his photo with the Deputy Prime Minister of the Federation Shawn K Richards and affirmed that both PAM and CCM will always follow the basic principles of Team Unity. 

Further, Brantley also met with Deputy PM of St Kitts and Nevis Shawn Richard and said, “Life is best seen in black and white, right and wrong. Having a coffee with my brother Shawn Richards and discussing our country and our people.”
