St Kitts and Nevis: Team Unity holds tripartite meeting in Basseterre

The meeting has consisted of the leaders of the Tripartite, which includes the People's Labour Party, the Concerned Citizens' Movement and the People's Action Movement. The leaders of these parties are Prime Minister Dr Timothy Harris, Shawn K Richards, and Premier of Nevis Mark Brantley.

St Kitts and Nevis: The tripartite led Team Unity has held a meeting at the Cabinet Room of the Government Headquarters in the capital of the Federation of St Kitts and Nevis- Basseterre. on the morning of Wednesday, April 6, 2022. 

The meeting has consisted of the leaders of the Tripartite, which includes the People’s Labour Party, the Concerned Citizens’ Movement and the People’s Action Movement. The leaders of these parties are Prime Minister Dr Timothy Harris, Shawn K Richards, and Premier of Nevis Mark Brantley. 

So, the three leaders of the three parties have held a meeting to discuss several ways and exchanges views on the current state. All the leaders have participated in the meeting and expressed their views on the current state of the coalition. They also issued various recommendations for the way forward.

As per the information in the press release of the government of St Kitts and Nevis, the meeting was quite frank and cordial. They have also set the framework for further discussion that could be taken place on Thursday, April 14, 2022.

While expressing pleasure after meeting with the Team Unity members, Prime Minister of St Kitts and Nevis Timothy Harris noted, “Delighted to spend time Today with my #Team Unity colleagues exploring next steps as we craft the future for our beloved nation. This is part of an iterative process as we move towards a stronger and safer future.” 

Further, Premier of Nevis Mark Brantley also expressed, “Today we meet to either resolve or dissolve. I am reminded that God is our refuge and our strength, a very present help in trouble. Today, more than ever, I pray for wisdom.”

Earlier, the meeting, which was scheduled to be held on Monday, was postponed by the leaders of the three political parties to pay respect to the Former Premier of Nevis and Ambassador Vance Amory. 

Deputy Prime Minister Shwan K Richards stated, “Due to the sudden passing of His Excellency Vance Amory, former Cabinet colleague and former Premier of Nevis, we communicated with the Honorable Prime Minister that it would be appropriate to delay the tripartite meeting of heads of political parties scheduled for Today until Wednesday of this week as a mark of respect to HE Vance Amory, a founding member of Team Unity.

The People’s Action Movement and the Concerned Citizens Movement remain committed to the founding principles of Team Unity and a better St Kitts and Nevis for all, he added.Â
