St Kitts and Nevis: In a handing-over ceremony at the main branch of Republic Bank on Fort Street, Country Manager Pamela Herbert-Daniel handed over $30,000 to the St Kitts Nevis National Carnival Committee (SKNNCC).
Their partnership gave them the honour of being named title sponsor for the Talented Teen Pageant. This show will be staged at the Marriott Dome on Tuesday, December 20 and will now be called the 𝐑𝐞𝐩𝐮𝐛𝐥𝐢𝐜 𝐁𝐚𝐧𝐤 𝐍𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐓𝐚𝐥𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐓𝐞𝐞𝐧 𝐏𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐚𝐧𝐭.
Herbert-Daniel said that the bank is proud to be associated with National Carnival for the first time. She also stated that Republic Bank is especially pleased to be part of the nation’s youth development at a time of great societal challenges.
In addition to the cash sponsorship, the bank will open savings accounts for all the contestants with an initial deposit and provide guidance on the importance of financial management with respect to savings.
Republic Bank is one of the largest indigenous banks in the English-speaking Caribbean and by establishing roots in St Kitts & Nevis, Republic has strengthened its commitment to the island and the Caribbean.
The bank opened the doors of its three-branch network in St. Kitts and Nevis two years ago, following the acquisition of the operations of the Bank of Nova Scotia by Republic Financial Holdings Ltd.
Eight ( contestants will participate in the Republic Bank National Talented Teen Pageant which returns to Sugar Mas 51 after a two-year absence due to the Covid 19 pandemic.
An SKNNCC spokesperson stated, “The SMAs is indeed an excellent initiative as it will give carnival lovers an opportunity to celebrate the achievements of those who contributed consistently and significantly.
There are so many to be honored that it will take the SKNNCC about 3 – 5 years to pay tribute to all those who worked tirelessly in the above-named categories over the 51-year period.
